CURRENT PROJECTS

Sveriges Television, Svenska Filminstitutet och Film i väst join Visiontree documentary production

Our one-hour documentary follows two families with seven-year-olds with Down Syndrome.

We follow their struggles and joys during the first seven years of life, and hear their views about the value of what has become a life choice – to allow a child with Down Syndrome to be born in the new age of selective abortion.

SVT will co-produce the film with Visiontree.

Mia Wright and Kristina Ahlinder win culture prize

At a ceremony at the University of Uppsala, we received Svenska Kyrkan's Kulturstipendium for our ongoing work with the documentary about families living with Down Syndrome.

Production manager on Blott du mig älskar

Over a four-month period of the Summer and Autumn, Mia Wright took on the production leadership of Amphi Productions' novellfilm.

The film is about violence in relationships.

Director Ylva Gustavsson presided over a 11-day shoot in and around central Gothenburg.

For director of photography, Kalle Rasmussen, the film was a chance to put the new Arri Alexa to the test.

 TREE THOUGHTS ON PRODUCTION

In last week's episode...

Leaving her hectic, West End London lifestyle behind her, our heroine heads for the sleazy dockside at Harwich and a late-night ferry to a new life in her childhood home – Sweden.

London was all Routemaster buses and lavish post-production suites. On Donsö you get lobster traps on 'flakmopeds', but you can forget Soya milk on your Chai Latte.

She sniffs the night breeze and oil fumes from the vessel's aft. She asks herself: "Will I miss having a runner? What time do we arrive? Is the shop open yet?"

1. Life is short and precious. Choose projects and clients carefully.

2. It isn't arty, but the award I got from Promo Promo means more than my film festival prizes. Few challenges measure up to turning a 16mm shoot around in one week from casting to broadcast.

3. There's no substitute for absolute thoroughness in the run up to a shoot. On the shoot, there's no substitute for experience.
